Killing Floor Weapon Tier List (2025 Meta)
Not all guns are created equal in Killing Floor. While skill matters, bringing a knife to a Fleshpound fight is suicide. Here is the tier list of weapons based on efficiency, damage per second (DPS), and utility.
S-Tier (God Tier)
Game-changing weapons that define the meta.
- M99 AMR (Sharpshooter): The ultimate boss killer. One-shots almost everything. Expensive ammo, heavy, but deletes threats instantly.
- AA12 Auto Shotgun (Support): The DPS king. Shreds Fleshpounds in seconds. Eat through ammo fast, but nothing survives a mag dump.
- Hunting Shotgun (Support): The “Boomstick”. Cheap, high burst damage. The alt-fire (double barrel) can stumble Scrakes and kill big groups. Essential for jump-dodging.
- SCAR-MK17 (Commando): High damage, accurate, kills trash zeds in one hit. The gold standard for Commandos.
- Pipe Bombs (Demolitions): Passive area denial. Stacks massive damage on Patriarch or Fleshpounds.
A-Tier (Strong & Reliable)
Excellent choices for most situations.
- Crossbow (Sharpshooter): Cheap, reusable ammo, stuns Scrakes with headshots. The most cost-effective weapon in the game.
- M32 Grenade Launcher (Demolitions): Revolver grenade launcher. Huge crowd control and stumble power.
- Katana (Berserker): Fast swing speed, stun locks Scrakes easily. The best melee weapon for general use.
- FN FAL (Commando): Higher rate of fire than SCAR, good for panic situations, but eats ammo.
- Lever Action Rifle (Sharpshooter): Dirt cheap, one-shots trash zeds, stuns Husks. Best early game weapon.
B-Tier (Solid / Situational)
Good, but outclassed by higher tiers or niche.
- M79 Grenade Launcher (Demolitions): Good early game, but M32 is better.
- M14 EBR (Sharpshooter): High DPS for Sharpshooters who prefer spamming over one-shotting. Good for trash clearing.
- Flamethrower (Firebug): Fun, but blinds teammates and rages big Zeds if not careful. Great for trash, bad for big guys.
- Claymore (Berserker): High damage, great reach, but slow. Harder to use than Katana.
- MP7 / MP5 (Medic): Good for healing, low damage. You use them for the darts, not the bullets.
C-Tier (Early Game / Weak)
Replace as soon as possible.
- Bullpup (Commando): Accurate but low damage. Obsolete once you can afford an AK47 or SCAR.
- Shotgun (Pump Action): Good for wave 1-3, but too slow for later waves.
- Dual 9mm / Handcannons: Fun, but usually not worth the weight unless you are a Gunslinger (if modded) or desperate.
D-Tier (Avoid)
Generally a waste of money unless for a meme.
- MAC-10 (Firebug): High recoil, burns ammo too fast, low impact.
- Chainsaw (Berserker): Looks cool, but prevents you from parrying effectively and blocks teammate vision.
- M4 Assault Rifle: Worse than the AK47 and SCAR in almost every way.
Tip: Always sell your Tier 1 weapon (Bullpup, Pump Shotgun, etc.) to fund your Tier 3 weapon (SCAR, AA12). Do not hoard weak guns.
