Christmas Patriarch

Patriarch

Evil genius. 3 meters tall. Heavy machine gun. Anti-tank rockets. And a few nasty surprises in melee.

Description

Patriarch is the main boss in Killing Floor. He is heavily armed and extremely dangerous — defeating him requires the power and coordination of the whole team.

All Patriarch attacks are deadly: a player without survival bonuses can withstand only two or three of his hits or direct attacks. Don’t try to kill Patriarch alone, even if you’re strong. A team can win — a single player never will.

Behavior

Interesting

While Patriarch is spinning up his machine gun, you can interrupt him by attacking with melee weapons — but beware his close-range attacks.

Combat tactics

Fighting the boss usually means taking your most leveled perks and using a different approach than on previous waves.

The simplest tactic is coordinated team focus-fire with powerful weapons.

A harder tactic: many players pick Berserker and surround the Patriarch, preventing him from escaping. The goal is to kill him quickly before he can heal.

If the team can’t finish him quickly, you’ll have to wear him down — kiting around the map and shooting from long range with a Crossbow or L.A.W.

On Our Servers

Patriarch can fire 1 to 3 rockets in one volley (random). On the simplified CLASSIC NORMAL server, Patriarch always fires only 1 rocket.

Patriarch cannot move while firing the machine gun until the first heal.

Patriarch kills are credited to the player who deals the most damage, regardless of who lands the final blow.

The “FINISH HIM!” state is Patriarch’s condition when his health drops to a critically low level. In this state, Patriarch becomes extremely aggressive and remains invisible for 6 seconds.

Background

Patriarch was once a scientist named Kevin Clamely, director and founder of Horzine Biotech. He was hired by the government to create a flawless soldier — one who would feel no pain or fear, and would not be burdened by human morality or reason. London was used as a testing ground for experimental specimens from multiple Horzine research projects.

When the “specimens” first got loose, no one could stand in their way. Horzine Biotech was accused of criminal negligence, and all developments were officially frozen.

Nevertheless, in a secret underground complex, Clamely continued his work. When his most loyal colleagues began leaving, he realized his work was in danger. At the last moment, to preserve his legacy, he asked the remaining scientists to apply all available developments to his own body.

Clamely received:

After that, Kevin Clamely underwent the same genetic modification as the other specimens — but this time all safety interlocks were disabled and the process ran at full power.

When people began exterminating his creations, Patriarch understood that the time for war had come.
