Killing Floor perks 999 (progression on our servers)

One of the first things players notice on our servers is progression: perks keep moving, even after you’ve seen everything the vanilla game can offer.

This page explains the idea behind unlimited perk levels (up to 999) and how to approach leveling without turning it into a second job.

How perk levels matter (beyond the number)

On a typical KF server, perk level does two things:

On our network, the high cap mainly exists to give long-term goals. It does not mean you must grind to 999 to have fun.

How progression “feels” compared to vanilla

Vanilla KF progression is straightforward: level up perks, hit the cap, then the only progression is personal skill. Our servers are built for people who enjoy a longer runway:

Practical leveling advice (returning players)

If you are returning after years, the fastest way to have fun is not “optimize XP”. It is to reduce friction:

Picking a perk (simple but effective)

If you are unsure what to play:

If you play in a group, agree on roles early. Random teams wipe mostly because everyone picks a selfish perk and nobody covers healing/support.

What stays shared across the network

FAQ

Do I need to play one specific server to level up?

No. Progression is shared across the network, so you can switch modes without losing progress.

Why does my leveling feel slower/faster on different servers?

Different modes and difficulties change pacing (and often the amount of team actions you do). If you want steady progress, play a mode where you consistently contribute to the team.

Do I need to min-max XP or farm maps?

No. Consistency beats farming. If you only play the “best XP map”, you usually burn out and quit. A stable weekly routine wins long-term.

Premium and faster leveling (optional)

Premium gives additional features and accelerates perk leveling. If you want to support the project:
