Killing Floor Objective Mode (Story) Guide
Objective Mode (KFO) transforms Killing Floor from a wave survival game into a linear story-driven mission. Instead of just killing Zeds, you must escort VIPs, repair generators, and transport gold bars.
Official Objective Maps
1. KFO-Steamland (The Ringmaster)
Objective: Help the Ringmaster repair his carnival ride and escape.
- Hardest Part: Escorting the Ringmaster.
- Tip: The Ringmaster has health. Heals work on him! A Medic should focus solely on healing the NPC.
- Gold Bars: You have to carry gold bars which slow you down. Drop them (Default key:
\) during combat, clear Zeds, then pick them up again.
2. KFO-Transit (Subway)
Objective: Escape a metro system overrun by Zeds.
- Key Mechanic: Welding specific doors to route Zeds away from you while waiting for the train.
- Boss: The Patriarch fight happens in a confined space on the platform. Keep moving.
3. KFO-FrightYard
Objective: Various tasks in a container yard.
- Key Mechanic: Operating cranes and forklifts. Watch for “Interaction” icons.
General Tips for Objective Mode
- Read the HUD: The top left corner always tells you what to do. “Repair Generator”, “Defend Area”.
- Don’t just kill: Zeds spawn infinitely during some objectives. Focus on the task (welding/repairing). Killing is just for survival.
- Role Selection:
- Berserker: Great for carrying heavy items (Gold/Fuel) because they move faster and can tank hits.
- Support: Essential for welding objectives.
- Medic: Mandatory for escort missions.
