Killing Floor Achievements: Complete Guide

Killing Floor has 284 Steam achievements — one of the largest achievement lists for any game. This guide covers every category and provides tips for the hardest ones.

Achievement Categories Overview

Perk Leveling Achievements (36 total)

Each of the 6 perks has 6 level achievements (Level 1 through Level 6).

Field Medic

• Field Medic Level 1-6 — Heal teammates to gain experience.
• Tip: Use the MP7M Medic Gun. Heal damaged teammates constantly. On modded servers with “Faked Players”, you can self-heal by damaging yourself with grenades.

Support Specialist

• Support Specialist Level 1-6 — Weld doors and deal shotgun damage.
• Tip: Weld doors on defense maps. Let Zeds damage the door, then repair. Repeat.

Sharpshooter

• Sharpshooter Level 1-6 — Get headshots with rifles and pistols.
• Tip: Use the Crossbow on corridor maps. Penetration allows multiple headshots per shot.

Commando

• Commando Level 1-6 — Kill Stalkers with assault rifles.
• Tip: Farm Stalkers on KF-Leveling or KF-TestMap6p with the SCAR or AK-47.

Berserker

• Berserker Level 1-6 — Deal melee damage.
• Tip: Use the Fire Axe or Katana. Run at Clots and swing.

Firebug

• Firebug Level 1-6 — Deal fire damage.
• Tip: Use the Flamethrower on large groups. Defense maps are ideal.

Demolitions

• Demolitions Level 1-6 — Deal explosive damage.
• Tip: Use the M32 on groups. Pipe bombs on bosses.

Map Completion Achievements (~120 total)

Each official map has 4 difficulty achievements:

• [Map Name] on Normal — Beat the map on Normal difficulty.
• [Map Name] on Hard — Beat the map on Hard difficulty.
• [Map Name] on Suicidal — Beat the map on Suicidal difficulty.
• [Map Name] on Hell on Earth — Beat the map on Hell on Earth (HoE).

Official Maps List

Tips for Hell on Earth:

1. Team up. Solo HoE is extremely difficult.
2. Pick strong perks. Level 6 Support, Sharpshooter, and Demo are meta.
3. Camp smart. Find a choke point with weldable doors.
4. Save ammo for bosses. Patriarch is the real challenge.

Collectible Achievements (~40 total)

Hidden items scattered across maps that must be shot or interacted with.

KF-Hillbilly Horror: Gnome Achievements

• Gnome Hunter — Shoot all 10 hidden garden gnomes.
• Gnome Locations: Behind haystacks, on roofs, inside the barn, near the well.
• Tip: Use a Commando (Stalker vision) or ask a friend with a guide.

KF-Bedlam: Halloween Items

• Pumpkin Smasher — Destroy all pumpkins on the map.
• Hidden in: corners, on shelves, behind doors.

KF-Moonbase: Robot Parts

• D.A.R. Collector — Find all robot parts to unlock the D.A.R. character.
• Parts are in: airlocks, behind crates, in the reactor room.

KF-Aperture: Potato ARG

• Golden Potato — Complete the Portal 2 ARG event.
• Steps: Find the potato machines, spend dosh on them, trigger the GLaDOS sequence.
• Unlocks: Golden AK-47 skin.

Seasonal/Event Achievements (~50 total)

Originally available only during Christmas, Halloween, and Summer Sideshow events.

How to Unlock Them in 2025

1. Find an Event Server. Some servers run permanent “Christmas” or “Halloween” modes.
2. Use Mutators. In Solo, you can enable event Zeds via console commands or mutators.
3. Use SAM. If the event is truly impossible to trigger, SAM is the last resort.

Christmas Event Achievements

• Merry Friggin’ Christmas — Kill 25 Gingerbread Men.
• Nutcracker — Kill 50 Nutcrackers.
• Frosty Demise — Kill 25 Evil Snowmen.
• Coal for Christmas — Beat KF-EvilSanta on HoE.
• Unlocks: Baddest Santa character (after 10 Christmas achievements).

Halloween Event Achievements

• Trick or Treat — Kill 50 Pumpkin Zeds.
• Devil May Care — Kill 25 Demon Zeds.
• Unlocks: Grim Reaper character (after completing Bedlam achievements).

Summer Sideshow Achievements

• Circus Freak — Kill 50 Clown Zeds.
• Strong Man Slayer — Kill 25 Strong Men.
• Unlocks: Steampunk Mr. Foster (after completing Abusement Park achievements).

Weapon Specialist Achievements (~30 total)

Deal specific amounts of damage or kills with certain weapons.

Tip: These are cumulative across all games. Just keep playing.

Miscellaneous Achievements

• Big Game Hunter — Kill 1000 Fleshpounds.
• Slaughterhouse — Kill 10,000 Zeds total.
• Surgeon — 10,000 headshots.
• Survivalist — Survive 100 waves (across all games).

Troubleshooting: Why Didn’t I Get the Achievement?

Server Type Matters

Common Issues

1. Mutators Enabled: In Solo, enabling ANY mutator disables achievements (with few exceptions).
2. Wrong Difficulty: You must complete the map on the EXACT difficulty for the achievement. Suicidal doesn’t count for Hard achievement.
3. Disconnected: You must be present from start to finish.
4. Server Crashed: No save. Achievement lost.

Steam Achievement Manager (SAM)

What is SAM?

A third-party tool that tells Steam “I completed this achievement” without actually doing it.

Is it Safe?

• VAC Ban? No. Valve does not VAC ban for SAM in Killing Floor 1.
• When to use: Only close the game first. Never use SAM while connected to a server.

When to Use SAM

• Broken achievements that won’t trigger.
• Seasonal events that are impossible to access legitimately.
• Progress lost due to server crashes.
