The Art of Kiting (Solo Survival)

In Multiplayer, you “Camp” (hold a spot). In Solo (or when your team dies), you “Kite”. Kiting means running a designated loop around the map while shooting backwards.

The Golden Rule: Keep Moving

Never stop. If you stop, they surround you.

• Look Forward: Check for spawns in front of you. Kill them fast (trash clearing).
• Look Back: Shoot the horde chasing you.
• Reload: Only reload while running.

Pathing & Loops

Good maps have “Loops” — circular paths connecting rooms.

• Example (West London): Church -> Bridge -> Police Station -> Underpass -> Church.
• Strategy: Run this loop. Zeds will naturally form a “train” behind you. This makes headshots easy because they line up.

Weapon Weight (Speed)

Your movement speed depends on weapon weight.

• Knife: Fastest run speed. Switch to knife if you need to gain distance.
• Pistol: Fast.
• Primary: Slowest.
• Tip: Jump-turn. Jump, spin 180 in air, shoot, land, spin back. This maintains momentum.

Dealing with Ragers

While kiting, Scrakes and Fleshpounds are dangerous.

1. Don’t Rage them: Do not shoot big zeds until you are ready.
2. Clear Trash First: Kill all Clots and Crawlers around the Big Zed.
3. The Takedown: Once the Big Zed is alone, stop for a second, execute your combo (see our Takedown Guide), and resume running.
