Fix: No Servers Found (Empty Browser)

If you open the Server Browser and see “Querying Master Server…” forever, or 0 servers, your configuration file is likely pointing to dead master servers (Gamespy died years ago).

The Fix: Edit KillingFloor.ini

  1. Close the game.
  2. Navigate to your Killing Floor folder (usually Steam\steamapps\common\KillingFloor\System).
  3. Open KillingFloor.ini with Notepad.
  4. Find the section [IpDrv.MasterServerLink].
  5. Delete all lines starting with MasterServerList=.
  6. Paste the following modern Master Servers:
ini
[IpDrv.MasterServerLink]
LANPort=11777
LANServerPort=10777
MasterServerList=(Address="kf1.masters.tripwireinteractive.com",Port=28902)
MasterServerList=(Address="master.333networks.com",Port=28900)
MasterServerList=(Address="master.errorist.eu",Port=28900)

Why this happens?

The original Gamespy master servers shut down in 2014. Steam replaced them, but sometimes old config files still try to ping Gamespy. Adding 333networks and errorist helps find community servers that might not be on the main list.

Still not working?

  1. Check Filters: In the Server Browser, uncheck “Map: [Current]”, “No Password”, “Not Full”. Sometimes a filter hides everything.
  2. Firewall: Ensure KillingFloor.exe is allowed in Windows Firewall.
  3. Pirated Copy: If you are not on Steam, you need a cracked MasterServer (we do not support this, buy the game on Steam, it is cheap).
